Error: An unnamed file contains an incorrect schema.
4.3
xp
What caused this? I had a situation that when I went to open the program that was in process,,,I got the error that a duplicate file was created (rename - delete), so I did a rename. The next day, none of them opened. I am assuming the demon is haunting me.....
Thanks

I want to check the concentricity of two holes by using a plug gage.how can i design a plug gage for it specially tolerance calculations?
Hole 1 diameter(mm) = 12 (+0.098,+0.04)
Hole 2 diameter(mm)= 6 (+0.077,+0.050)
12 mm dia hole is on the top plate while 6 mm dia hole is on the lower plate.
i do not want to use cmm to check the concentricity of two holes.
and what are benefits of using limit tolerances.

We recently purchased a ball-bar set-up from Bal-Tec and I am going to be setting up an interim validation program. What I need is some help with the locations for the ball-bar program I am creating. I've seen a lot of different thoughts on the whole thing and am confused as to what is the "standard" for this.
Looking for ANY help on this.
Thanks for all the help.

Anyone have a source for having threaded inserts put into an existing surface plate? I have two small (18 x 24) surface plates I'd like to have a few threaded inserts put into. I have had Starrett do this in the past so I do have that source (if they are still doing that, I think they sold their granite mine operation). But I am looking for multiple sources.

I am needing to get some parts laser cut. Our shop does not have a laser cutter. Does anyone know what kind of accuracy they can hold?

Im currently running a program with a ( x32 ) loop in it.
Don't know if it is relevant, but the loop is most of the program,
and lets me measure 32 parts without any manual alignment after the 1st part.
Sometimes this will run though without any problem. Other times, the program will
stop, with no error messages, and not start again until I press the ""pause program"" and then ""run program"" commands. After this it always finishes the loop it is on ( i.e. max of one stop per loop ).
I took a note of when it stopped ( loop # 3, 6, 12, 18 and 20 ), and what line number
( line 226, 216, 216, 216 and 210 ).
The next line after 210 is a move command, 216 a change probe #6 command and line 226 a change probe #1 command.
Anyone experienced this before ?
I'm collecting the results in Measurelink. Could this be a memory buffer thing ?
Any help appreciated.

I'm having an issue measuring some slotted captured pins on a fixture. I can see by eye that the captured pins are turned 90 degrees to what they are supposed to be.
Looking at one pin for example, Pin P6 is supposed to be 4mm X 5mm running in line with the X axis. Measured by hand, it's 3mm X 4.5mm, but in line with the Y axis instead of the X axis. For some reason, when I measure this pin on the CMM in Auto Mode, I don't get these values. I would expect to see close to 3 X 4.5, but the width as the length (4.5 X 3). Instead what I get is roughly 4.5 X 6. Is this because of a calculation error since the pin is shorter on the length than it is on the width?
I have tried changing my nominal data to measure the slot along the Y axis instead, and then I get the same numbers as I measure by hand.

The calibration routine does not seem to work properly in 4.3 ! ! !
On a 9-15-9 Xcel with Sharp32 controller I encountered a problem trying to calibrate the rack. In 4.3 after the calibration it would load each slot correctly, but after that the Z axis would be off by about .200". (Too hight for slots 1 & 2 and too low for slots 5 & 6.) After too much time pulling hair, trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, & trying to manually adjust the Z location of the slots, I tried calibrating in 3.7MR3. Worked just perfect the first time. I then copy pasted the toolc.dat file from the 3.7MR3 directory to the 4.3 directory and the kingdom was suffused with joyful peace forevermore.
For the record, I am no novice at rack calibration and use. I have the MCR20, a SCR200, and a MRS system with 5 FCRs for both the SP25 modules and stylus holders as well as the tp20 modules. I have sucessfully calibrated this MCR20 several times in multiple versions of Pc-Dmis over the last 5 years. I am posting this in hope it will save someone else some frustration in the future.

The company that I work for is that of the medical industry and we use a lot of profile tolerancing that are of very small .001" and less we get some relief at times when it is relative to a datum at MMC. The problem that i am having is that most of the software I have found uses least square and not a true bestfit to the datum referance frames.
So does anyone have any thoughts of a best fit software out there. The CMMs (3) here are LK and we use there Camio 4.6 software which doesn't perform the best fit properly and we have also tried Formfit. The best I have found so far is Measurefit an OGP software which is only 2D so it is limited. With it I have to run it thru a short Python program to create the dat file that measurefit understands than run that thru measurefit. Looking for something a little more user freindly.

I'm in the middle of a "discussion" here about the design of an attribute gage.
The "print""has no standard listed.
The "print" uses no GD&T callouts.
I have two holes, size callout of 0.656" to 0.688"
These holes have a spread callout of 4.745" to 4.755"
SO, what size PIN should be in the attribute gage to check the spread of these holes?
The spread of the "hard gage" or attribute gage must be 4.750", but what size PINS should be used to see "GO / NO-GO" for the spread?
