Has anyone ever made their own foot pedal? I have a 1976 CYBERTIG CT-300 with a 10 pin connector. I believe that only 6 of the pins are used. I received an e-mail from a company that builds a pedal for this machine. They have a crude schematic in their documentation, but it does not list values for the caps, resistors etc.... it is here:
http://www.ssccontrols.com/ProductIn...20Controls.pdf
If anyone has some tips on how to electrically setup a pedal I'd appreciate it. I don't plan on building a typical foot pedal but my own hybrid actuation system. I am a electronics technican by trade and figure I'll be able to build it pretty easy if I know the values for the components.
Thanks

Here's an interesting product I was emailed about. The idea is to prepare the metal and then have a thin primer that protects the metal from corrossion. This can then be welded without the need for additional surface preparation.

Is this an issue that occurs only in construction or do lots of people have it?

Senator
S = straight polarity E = electrode N= negative
Straight polarity is electrode negative
Representative
R= reverse polarity E = electrode P = positive
Reverse polarity is electrode positive

Hi there,
I was wondering what the best torch to use on ky AHP TIG machine? I am a complete tig newb. Is the wp17 that comes with the welder a good all around torch? I was thinking about getting some gas lens and didn't know if I should get them for the wp17 or get a different torch? I seen quite a few people mention the wp9, I will be buying a new flex torch so should I just get the flex torch in the wp9? And get gas lens for both the wp17 and wp9?
Thanks,

Hello Everyone,
I am working on what seems to be a never ending automotive project. The newest twist is that I've decided to go to a V-Mount type intercooler and this requires that I modify the radiator.
The radiator tanks are made from formed sheet material that are TIG'ed to the core which has brazed tubes.
I will need to relocate both nipples and reshape one of the tanks.
Questions:
Are there any special considerations I should be aware of with the brazed core?
And what alloy aluminum and filler should I use?
Thanks In advance for any help that you can offer.

I've seen some videos that for automotive welding we should use ER70S-6 rod, is it the same as A18 ER70S-6?

I am new to TIG welding and have been having some issues with the arc from my torch not staying in line with the tungsten, It goes to the side or sometimes to the back and therefore my bead is not where it is supposed to be, It happens with new tungsten and on both mild steel and stainless steel, Using 2% thor.
Any help would be appreciated

As long as I have been reading discussions regarding TIG welding I have never seen or read of welding in any position other than flat . Is overhead TIG welding practical. Are other positions practical ? Limitations Please ?

I have to say I am pretty excited.
I ordered my welder this morning -- I can't believe it isn't here yet.:p
Anyway, I went with the AHP AlphaTIG 200DX
Any suggestions (other than read the manual) for the first things I should tackle? I know puddle initiation without filler rod is something I have read in other places.
