My machine is the 30W Portable Fiber Laser Marking Machine New Update JPT MOPA Galvo and it has the green/yellow light on top of the laser source box. It used to work by giving me a yellow warning light when the lasering is active, however, it now stays green even when laser is on. Is there a setting in ezcad2 to make this working again or is there a problem with the electronics inside box? This does not interfere with the lasering process, however... Are there wiring schematics somewhere that could point me in the right direction?

Can this engrave and cut leather? If yes how thick leather can it cut?
Also can it cut paper? IF so is there a bed to lay the paper on or how would you support/hold the paper in place during the cutting process?

I am looking for info on the Haas V-1 vertical machining center. I am seriously considering this machine for my shop. Are there any pros or cons on the machine and or its control. Any input is greatly appreciated

Sharpening new cutting tools in mass production situations...or are they mainly used for resharpening tools in high volume ? Or neither, but used for grinding custom tooling ?

Again the uneducated have to ask silly questions. Guys I have a 5 HP rotary converter in my shop but I notice that on ebay they sell rotarys that are for CNC machines. Can you tell me the difference between those and a standard converter? I'm gonna end up w/ a CNC yet and don't really want to blow up boards or what not.

Has anyone had experience with Hyundai machines in general? A dealer quoted me a very tempting price ($47K) for a HiT-400G gang tool lathe with c axis, linear scale on X axis and parts catcher. This sounds like a very productive machine, but I am a little wary of brands that I haven't heard about from real world users. Any objective Hyundai users out there? Input would be appreciated.

Does anyone out there have any experience with Hyundai or other brands of gang tool lathes? How about Ameritech, Omni-Turn and Haas? I'm thinking about buying another lathe
and this type of machine seems like a good match for the parts I need to make but I haven't had any experience with them at all. Any input would be helpful.

For those of you who have had hands on experience with cnc mills please advise: I have been told that a CNC knee mill is better for a low volume shop ie. one-offs, prototyping, than a CNC bed mill because of the knee mills greater flexibility (ie. ram that extends beyond table etc.)...but what about the Z axis?
When you program a CNC knee mill are you limited to the length of the quill in your machining programs or can you use the powerfeed on the knee to give you the z axis depth that you want in the program ?
Concrete example: during the course of cnc milling you want to drill a 7" deep hole thru an aluminum block. On a CNC bed mill with a 20" z axis you just program it in and end of story. With the CNC knee mill and say a 5" quill would you program the machine to drill a hole 5" in depth followed by withdrawal of the bit from the hole then a stop in the program so that the knee can be raised to drill the additional 2"...or can you program the powerfeed of the knee mill to raise automatically ?
